Resveratrol

Resveratrol and Ellagic Acid Containing Polyphenolics

Resveratrol is a substance produced by several plants that has been studied for its health benefit. It first came to the attention of the scientific community as the possible explanation for the “French Paradox” – the relatively low incidence of heart disease despite a high dietary intake of saturated fats in people in Southern France. Studies suggest that resveratrol has cardioprotective and anticancer activities. Resveratrol is a naturally occurring compound present in many fruits, vegetables, and wine. It is typically associated with extracts. Most fruits (even French bunch grapes) have such small amounts of the compound, that extraction methods are the only viable solution to retrieve measurable amounts. One of the highest sources of natural resveratrol is in the thick skin of the Muscadine grape. The amount of resveratrol in Muscadine grapes varies by cultivar and growing conditions. Muscadine Naturals uses a unique, chemical-free process that maintains the high concentrated level of natural resveratrol and other phytonutrients found in the fresh fruit.

Ellagic acid containing polyphenolics.

This is a large family of phenolics found in high concentration in Muscadine grapes. Other plants may have low or trace amounts of ellagic acid containing polyphenolics.  French Bunch grapes do not have any ellagic acid polyphenolics since they lack the gene for production. Not only are ellagic containing polyphenolics superior antioxidants they also regulate many genes to enhance and improve our health. Ellagic acid containing phenolics also have been scientifically proven to protect us from a variety of health disorders to improve our well -being. There is an overwhelming number of published studies on how these compounds improve our health and this information is available via emails to the company (info@muscadinenaturals.com). Our scientists will respond to any questions.

Other Phenolics

There is an enormous number of other phenolics contained in the Muscadine grape. Other Key compounds are Myricetin and Quercetin with benefits for many organs and tissues including the heart, blood vessels brain, skin and more. These compounds and many of the other hundreds of phenolic compounds all act together in a synergistic way to improve your health.
